Recovery and restoration of lost, crashed or destroyed WordPress sites
Host crash, wiped database, failed migration, destructive hack, accidental deletion: a "lost" WordPress site almost always has recoverable traces. Forgotten backups, Google cache, Wayback Machine, server logs: we explore the 4 sources and recover what we can.
What we explore in order
A loss that feels total almost always has at least one exploitable source. We systematically check all 4.
Success probability: 70%. Kinsta, WP Engine, SiteGround, GoDaddy, OVH keep automatic snapshots 7 to 30 days back, often forgotten by clients. First systematic check. Typical recovery in 1-2 h once the backup is identified.
Success probability: 50%. If you had UpdraftPlus, BackWPup, Duplicator, Jetpack VaultPress, archives may live in the cloud (Dropbox, Google Drive, S3, OneDrive). We check your mailbox for backup notifications sent by these plugins.
Success probability: 40-80% of textual content. Textual indexing of each page via cache.google.com and archive.org/web. Useful to recover article, page and product content even if the database is gone. Limitations: no media, no user accounts, no commercial history.
Success probability: 20% for structure, 0% for content. Logs typically kept ~90 days. May contain old URLs, most-visited pages, past database queries. Enables us to rebuild the site tree and prioritise which pages to re-create first.
Depending on what's still exploitable
Technical honesty: recovery chances depend entirely on what's left. Here are the 4 typical cases.
⚠️ Golden rule: the earlier the diagnostic, the higher the chances. Host backups expire fast (7-30 days), Google caches refresh (1-90 days per page).

"Lost site", it's not...
If WordPress displays "There has been a critical error", your site is broken but not lost — data is in the database, the application code is what's crashing. A less expensive dedicated page.
Critical error page → ❌ Not a simple hackIf your site is hacked but still online with its data, that's cleanup, not recovery. Recovery concerns sites where data has been deleted or corrupted.
Hacked site page → ❌ Not just "unreachable"If your site is temporarily unreachable but your files and database are intact, that's downtime, not loss. The WooCommerce down page is more suitable.
